a family with roots
The founders and proprietors of Hostal Andenes, Felix and María, are descendants of the Incans. They are native speakers of Quecha, the Incan language, and continue to practice the customs of their ancestors. They have four children — two are tour guides in the area and two are attending university to pursue careers in tourism.
patrons of the arts
Our family are some of the original founders of the artisan culture that has flourished in Ollantaytambo. When we began our work with the artisans there was still no electricity in the town, so we would use candles in order to light our work. Today,we carry on the tradition of our grandfathers by continuing to support artists of the region through production and sales.
the birth of the hotel
When the tourists first started coming to Ollantaytambo, there were no comfortable places in the town to eat and sleep. This inspired our family to construct Hostal Andenes to serve the needs of our tourists, a goal that we and our entire family continue to fulfill today. We hope you enjoy the many amenities we provide as we welcome you to our home. ¡Bienvenidos a nuestra casa!
